CIVIL MARRIAGE CEREMONY BETWEEN GREEK CITIZENS<\/strong><\/h5>\n<p data-start=\"223\" data-end=\"382\">Civil Marriage was established by Law 1250\/1982. Presidential Decree 391\/1982 laid down the details of civil marriages, the granting of marriage licenses, etc.<\/p>\n<h4 data-start=\"384\" data-end=\"402\">A1. Procedure<\/h4>\n<p data-start=\"404\" data-end=\"559\">Each of the spouses submits an application with the necessary documents to the competent Municipality in order to be issued an individual marriage license.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"561\" data-end=\"1132\">The competent Municipality for issuing a marriage license is the Municipality within the geographical boundaries of which the spouse is a permanent resident and can prove this with one of the proofs of permanent residence described below (see A2.3 Proof of permanent residence), except in the case where the spouse is a declared permanent resident of a foreign country and cannot provide proof of permanent residence in Greece. In that case, the competent Municipality is the one in which the spouse is a citizen (i.e. the Municipality that issues the Birth Certificate).<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1134\" data-end=\"1317\">The Marriage License is issued within eight (8) calendar days from the submission of the application, is received by the person concerned, and is valid for a period of six (6) months.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1319\" data-end=\"1515\">When both spouses have their marriage licenses, they submit their joint application to the Municipality of their choice with both licenses attached, after consultation for the date of the wedding.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1517\" data-end=\"1604\">In this application, they also state the surname of the children born of this marriage.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1606\" data-end=\"1684\">The wedding is performed on the agreed date, in the presence of two witnesses.<\/p>\n<h4 data-start=\"1686\" data-end=\"1773\">A2. Supporting documents for the issuance of a marriage license to a Greek citizen<\/h4>\n<ol data-start=\"1775\" data-end=\"3496\">\n<li data-start=\"1775\" data-end=\"1825\">\n<p data-start=\"1778\" data-end=\"1825\">Application (available from the Municipality)<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1826\" data-end=\"1903\">\n<p data-start=\"1829\" data-end=\"1903\">Declaration form with pre-printed text (available from the Municipality)<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1904\" data-end=\"2205\">\n<ul data-start=\"1912\" data-end=\"2205\">\n<li data-start=\"1912\" data-end=\"2059\">\n<p data-start=\"1914\" data-end=\"2059\"><strong data-start=\"1914\" data-end=\"1951\">For permanent residents of Greece<\/strong>: Proof of Permanent Residence (latest I.O.Y. statement or, alternatively, a recent utility bill or lease)<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2063\" data-end=\"2205\">\n<p data-start=\"2065\" data-end=\"2205\"><strong data-start=\"2065\" data-end=\"2099\">For long-term residents abroad<\/strong>: The latest tax clearance certificate of the Tax Office, which must state <em data-start=\"2174\" data-end=\"2203\">\u201cLONG-TERM RESIDENT ABROAD\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2206\" data-end=\"2530\">\n<p data-start=\"2209\" data-end=\"2530\">Copy or extract of the Birth \u2013 Baptismal Certificate (recent), from the Registry Office of the place of birth or from the Special Registry Office of Athens for those born abroad (except for Greeks naturalized after their birth, who instead submit a Birth Certificate and a photocopy of their Naturalization Certificate)<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2531\" data-end=\"2608\">\n<p data-start=\"2534\" data-end=\"2608\">For permanent residents abroad, their birth certificate is also required<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2609\" data-end=\"2667\">\n<p data-start=\"2612\" data-end=\"2667\">Photocopy of the Identity Card of both future spouses<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2668\" data-end=\"2805\">\n<p data-start=\"2671\" data-end=\"2805\">E-voucher \u201cFor issuance of a civil marriage license by the Municipality\u201d (code 2386), with the details of the future spouse, printed<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2806\" data-end=\"2850\">\n<p data-start=\"2809\" data-end=\"2850\">Proof of payment of the e-levy, printed<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2851\" data-end=\"3178\">\n<p data-start=\"2854\" data-end=\"3178\">Notification of the marriage in an Athens daily newspaper, submitted in its entirety along with the other documents. For foreigners, the details must be written in <strong data-start=\"3018\" data-end=\"3027\">GREEK<\/strong> and <strong data-start=\"3032\" data-end=\"3041\">LATIN<\/strong> characters.<br data-start=\"3053\" data-end=\"3056\" \/>When both future spouses&#8217; permits are issued by the Municipality of Glyfada, two (2) newspaper sheets are required<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"3179\" data-end=\"3300\">\n<p data-start=\"3183\" data-end=\"3300\">Divorcees also require a notarial deed of their last marriage (religious or civil), with its dissolution registered<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"3301\" data-end=\"3440\">\n<p data-start=\"3305\" data-end=\"3440\">For widows from their last marriage, a Birth Certificate of this marriage and the Death Certificate of their spouse are also required<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"3441\" data-end=\"3496\">\n<p data-start=\"3445\" data-end=\"3496\">For minors, an additional court order is required<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<hr data-start=\"3498\" data-end=\"3501\" \/>\n<h4 data-start=\"3503\" data-end=\"3690\"><strong>\u0392. CIVIL MARRIAGE BETWEEN A GREEK CITIZEN AND A FOREIGN CITIZEN (a legal permanent resident of Greece or a legal temporary resident hosted at the residence of the Greek future spouse)<\/strong><\/h4>\n<h4 data-start=\"3692\" data-end=\"3710\">B1. Procedure<\/h4>\n<p data-start=\"3712\" data-end=\"3777\">The Greek Citizen follows the procedure described above (see A1).<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3779\" data-end=\"3949\">The foreign citizen addresses the competent Municipality and submits an application with the necessary documents, in order to be issued an individual <strong data-start=\"3929\" data-end=\"3948\">Marriage Permit<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3951\" data-end=\"4207\">The competent Municipality is the one where the Greek spouse is a permanent resident and can prove it with appropriate documentation (see B2.3 Proof of permanent residence), or the one where the foreign citizen is legally hosted by the Greek future spouse.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"4209\" data-end=\"4380\">The Marriage License is issued within eight (8) calendar days from the submission of the application, is received by the person concerned, and is valid for six (6) months.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"4382\" data-end=\"4561\">Once both spouses have their marriage licenses, they submit a joint application to the Municipality of their choice, attaching both licenses, and setting the date of the ceremony.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"4563\" data-end=\"4649\">In this application, they also state the surname of the children born of the marriage.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"4651\" data-end=\"4728\">The wedding is conducted on the agreed date in the presence of two witnesses.<\/p>\n<h4 data-start=\"4730\" data-end=\"4813\">B2. Supporting documents for the issuance of a marriage license to a foreigner<\/h4>\n<ol data-start=\"4815\" data-end=\"6135\">\n<li data-start=\"4815\" data-end=\"4870\">\n<p data-start=\"4818\" data-end=\"4870\">Application form (available from the Municipality)<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"4871\" data-end=\"4931\">\n<p data-start=\"4874\" data-end=\"4931\">Signature Declaration (available from the Municipality)<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"4932\" data-end=\"5203\">\n<ul data-start=\"4940\" data-end=\"5203\">\n<li data-start=\"4940\" data-end=\"5089\">\n<p data-start=\"4942\" data-end=\"5089\"><strong data-start=\"4942\" data-end=\"4982\">A. For guests<\/strong>: Responsible Declaration from the Greek future spouse stating that they are hosting them<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"5204\" data-end=\"5280\">\n<p data-start=\"5207\" data-end=\"5280\">Birth Certificate with the required validation and official translation<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"5281\" data-end=\"5449\">\n<p data-start=\"5284\" data-end=\"5449\">Recent certificate from the Consular Authority of the applicant\u2019s country confirming no impediment to marriage in Greece (with validation and official translation)<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"5450\" data-end=\"5572\">\n<p data-start=\"5453\" data-end=\"5572\">Photocopies of identification documents and proof of legal residence in Greece (passport, ID, residence permit, VISA)<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"5573\" data-end=\"5707\">\n<p data-start=\"5576\" data-end=\"5707\">E-voucher &#8220;For issuing a marriage license by the Municipality&#8221;, with the future spouse\u2019s details and proof of payment (code 2386)<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"5708\" data-end=\"5822\">\n<p data-start=\"5711\" data-end=\"5822\">Notification of the marriage in an Athens daily newspaper (names in Greek; the entire newspaper is submitted)<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"5823\" data-end=\"5876\">\n<p data-start=\"5826\" data-end=\"5876\">Photocopy of the foreign citizen&#8217;s identity card<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"5877\" data-end=\"5994\">\n<p data-start=\"5881\" data-end=\"5994\">Divorcees must submit a notarial deed of their last marriage (if held in Greece), with the dissolution recorded<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"5995\" data-end=\"6135\">\n<p data-start=\"5999\" data-end=\"6135\">For widows (from a marriage held in Greece), a Birth Certificate of that marriage and the spouse&#8217;s Death Certificate are also required<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h4 data-start=\"6137\" data-end=\"6159\">B3. Special cases<\/h4>\n<p data-start=\"6161\" data-end=\"7193\"><strong data-start=\"6161\" data-end=\"6170\">B3.1.<\/strong> Political refugees (beneficiaries of international protection) must submit the relevant Residence Permit and passport, and after consultation with the service, relevant affidavits.<br data-start=\"6351\" data-end=\"6354\" \/><strong data-start=\"6354\" data-end=\"6363\">B3.2.<\/strong> Syrians must also provide special approval from the Syrian Ministry of Interior and their embassy in Bulgaria.<br data-start=\"6474\" data-end=\"6477\" \/><strong data-start=\"6477\" data-end=\"6486\">B3.3.<\/strong> Cypriots must provide a <em data-start=\"6511\" data-end=\"6532\">Freedom Certificate<\/em> from the Ministry of Interior of Cyprus.<br data-start=\"6573\" data-end=\"6576\" \/><strong data-start=\"6576\" data-end=\"6585\">B3.4.<\/strong> If the foreign citizen is from Austria, Germany, Switzerland, Spain, Italy, Luxembourg, Moldova, Netherlands, Portugal, Turkey:<br data-start=\"6713\" data-end=\"6716\" \/>They submit a <strong data-start=\"6730\" data-end=\"6790\">Standard Multilingual Certificate of Marriage Competency<\/strong>, valid for six (6) months, which is accepted as a marriage license, without further validation (only translation). They then submit this and supporting documents 2, 4, 6, 8, 9, 10 from B2.<br data-start=\"6979\" data-end=\"6982\" \/><strong data-start=\"6982\" data-end=\"6991\">B3.6.<\/strong> Albanians also present a certified and translated certificate from their country, which is accepted as a marriage license. They submit this certificate along with documents 2, 4, 6, 8, 9, 10 from B2.<\/p>\n<h4 data-start=\"7195\" data-end=\"7230\">B4. Validations \/ Translations<\/h4>\n<p data-start=\"7232\" data-end=\"7247\"><strong data-start=\"7232\" data-end=\"7247\">Validations<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"7249\" data-end=\"8369\">\n<li data-start=\"7249\" data-end=\"7354\">\n<p data-start=\"7251\" data-end=\"7354\">Documents from consular authorities in Greece are validated by the Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"7355\" data-end=\"7565\">\n<p data-start=\"7357\" data-end=\"7565\">Exempt: Austria, Cyprus, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Estonia, Ireland, Italy, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Moldova, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, UK.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"7566\" data-end=\"7647\">\n<p data-start=\"7568\" data-end=\"7647\">Documents issued abroad (Hague Convention 1961) are validated with APOSTILLE.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"7648\" data-end=\"7784\">\n<p data-start=\"7650\" data-end=\"7784\">APOSTILLE not required for documents from: Austria, France, Greece, Spain, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Turkey.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"7785\" data-end=\"7910\">\n<p data-start=\"7787\" data-end=\"7910\">For Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, Uzbekistan, Peru: validation only via Greek consular authorities (see full instructions above).<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"7911\" data-end=\"8141\">\n<p data-start=\"7913\" data-end=\"8013\">Documents from non-Hague countries are validated via their Ministry of Foreign Affairs and either:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"8016\" data-end=\"8141\">\n<li data-start=\"8016\" data-end=\"8061\">\n<p data-start=\"8018\" data-end=\"8061\">the Greek Consular Office in that country<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"8064\" data-end=\"8141\">\n<p data-start=\"8066\" data-end=\"8141\">or through triple validation (local MFA \u2192 embassy in Greece \u2192 Greek MFA).<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"8142\" data-end=\"8369\">\n<p data-start=\"8144\" data-end=\"8369\"><strong data-start=\"8144\" data-end=\"8199\">Exclusively validated by Greek consular authorities<\/strong>: Ethiopia, Algeria, Afghanistan, Ghana, Eritrea, Indonesia, Iraq, Iran, Kenya, DRC, Libya, Mali, Bangladesh, Nigeria, Pakistan, Senegal, Sudan, Sri Lanka, Philippines.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"8371\" data-end=\"8387\"><strong data-start=\"8371\" data-end=\"8387\">Translations<\/strong><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"8389\" data-end=\"8403\">Accepted by:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"8404\" data-end=\"8661\">\n<li data-start=\"8404\" data-end=\"8448\">\n<p data-start=\"8406\" data-end=\"8448\">The Translation Service of the Greek MFA<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"8449\" data-end=\"8505\">\n<p data-start=\"8451\" data-end=\"8505\">A certified translator at a Greek consular authority<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"8506\" data-end=\"8612\">\n<p data-start=\"8508\" data-end=\"8612\">A graduate of the Department of Foreign Languages, Translation &amp; Due to Marriage or Civil Partnership<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"485\" data-end=\"814\">Marriages or civil partnerships registered at a Registry Office after 01-02-2018 are automatically recorded through the Civil Registry system.<br data-start=\"627\" data-end=\"630\" \/><strong data-start=\"630\" data-end=\"667\">Citizens are requested to contact<\/strong> the telephone numbers (213 2025241 \u2013 247) or fax 213 2025249 of the Municipal Registry in order to <strong data-start=\"767\" data-end=\"793\">confirm the processing<\/strong> of the pending case.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"816\" data-end=\"1114\">In the case that a citizen has entered into a marriage or a civil partnership that was registered at a Registry Office <strong data-start=\"935\" data-end=\"945\">before<\/strong> 01-02-2018 and a new family portion has not been created, it is necessary to present the <strong data-start=\"1035\" data-end=\"1075\">Certificate from the Registry Office<\/strong> to the Department of Municipal Status.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1116\" data-end=\"1301\">In order for a civil partnership contract concluded under the provisions of Law 3719\/2008 to be registered in the Municipal Register, it must fall under the provisions of Law 4356\/2016.<\/p>\n<hr data-start=\"1303\" data-end=\"1306\" \/>\n<h3 data-start=\"1308\" data-end=\"1365\">B. Due to Divorce or Dissolution of Civil Partnership<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"1367\" data-end=\"1694\">Divorces or dissolutions of civil partnerships registered at the Registry Office after 01-02-2018 are <strong data-start=\"1469\" data-end=\"1495\">automatically recorded<\/strong> through the Civil Registry system.<br data-start=\"1530\" data-end=\"1533\" \/>Citizens are requested to <strong data-start=\"1559\" data-end=\"1592\">contact the telephone numbers<\/strong> of the Municipal Registry (213 2025241 \u2013 247) in order to confirm the processing of the pending case.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1696\" data-end=\"1971\">In case a citizen declared a divorce or dissolution of a civil partnership in a Registry Office <strong data-start=\"1792\" data-end=\"1813\">before 01-02-2018<\/strong> and a new family portion has not been created, it is necessary to present the <strong data-start=\"1892\" data-end=\"1932\">Certificate from the Registry Office<\/strong> to the Department of Municipal Status.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1973\" data-end=\"2573\">If there are children, <strong data-start=\"1996\" data-end=\"2038\">the issue of parental care and custody<\/strong> is examined in order to register them in the family portion of the parent who has custody. In such a case, a <strong data-start=\"2148\" data-end=\"2166\">court decision<\/strong> regarding the dissolution of the marriage, which confirms the <strong data-start=\"2229\" data-end=\"2250\">private agreement<\/strong> (if the divorce was consensual) by which the parents determine custody, or a <strong data-start=\"2328\" data-end=\"2346\">court decision<\/strong> regulating custody (if the divorce was contested), must be submitted, along with a <strong data-start=\"2430\" data-end=\"2487\">certificate from the Court of First Instance Registry<\/strong> confirming that <strong data-start=\"2504\" data-end=\"2534\">no other legal proceedings<\/strong> have been filed against this decision.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2575\" data-end=\"2817\">In cases where marriages or civil partnerships are dissolved by <strong data-start=\"2639\" data-end=\"2656\">notarial deed<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"2658\" data-end=\"2682\">custody arrangements<\/strong> do <strong data-start=\"2686\" data-end=\"2693\">not<\/strong> have recognition effect in the Municipal Register, in accordance with Article 15 of Law 3463\/2006, which remains unamended.<\/p>\n<hr data-start=\"2819\" data-end=\"2822\" \/>\n<h3 data-start=\"2824\" data-end=\"2850\">C. For Other Reasons<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"2851\" data-end=\"2935\">(e.g. birth of a child out of wedlock, annulment of paternity, child adoption, etc.)<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2937\" data-end=\"3129\">In these cases, the <strong data-start=\"2957\" data-end=\"2986\">supporting documents vary<\/strong>, depending on the case. data-end=\"882\">identity card<\/strong>, or<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"891\" data-end=\"994\">\n<p data-start=\"893\" data-end=\"994\">Through a third party with an <strong data-start=\"923\" return (E1)<\/strong> showing the applicant\u2019s main residence in Glyfada.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<blockquote data-start=\"1993\" data-end=\"2049\">\n<p data-start=\"1995\" data-end=\"2049\"><strong data-start=\"1995\" data-end=\"2010\">Photocopies<\/strong> of the above documents are acceptable.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<h4 data-start=\"2051\" data-end=\"2117\"><strong data-start=\"2056\" data-end=\"2115\">Special Note for Unmarried Citizens Living with Parents<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p data-start=\"2118\" data-end=\"2283\">If the applicant has been residing for the past two years at their <strong data-start=\"2185\" data-end=\"2207\">parents\u2019 residence<\/strong>, and the utility\/tax documents are <strong data-start=\"2243\" data-end=\"2250\">not<\/strong> in their name, they must Family Status Certificates<\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"387\" data-end=\"647\">Family status certificates are issued by the <strong data-start=\"432\" data-end=\"497\">Municipal Status Department of the Administrative Directorate<\/strong>, located at the <strong data-start=\"514\" data-end=\"535\">Glyfada City Hall<\/strong> (15 Alsos Street, 2nd floor), tel. <strong data-start=\"571\" data-end=\"592\">213 2025241 \u2013 247<\/strong>, as well as by <strong data-start=\"608\" data-end=\"646\">Citizens\u2019 Service Centres (K.E.P.)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"649\" data-end=\"851\">There is also the option to issue a <strong data-start=\"685\" data-end=\"717\">digitally signed certificate<\/strong> through the Municipality\u2019s website under <strong data-start=\"759\" data-end=\"807\">Digital Certificates \u2013 Citizens &amp; Businesses<\/strong>, using the <strong data-start=\"819\" data-end=\"838\">IntelligentCity<\/strong> application.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"853\" data-end=\"1044\">Certificates are issued to individuals <strong data-start=\"892\" data-end=\"928\">registered in the Family Section<\/strong> of the Municipality of Glyfada, after verification of their identity by presenting a valid <strong data-start=\"1020\" data-end=\"1043\">ID card or passport<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1046\" data-end=\"1094\">If a <strong data-start=\"1051\" data-end=\"1066\">third party<\/strong> applies, they must provide:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"1095\" data-end=\"1328\">\n<li data-start=\"1095\" data-end=\"1190\">\n<p data-start=\"1097\" data-end=\"1190\">An <strong data-start=\"1100\" data-end=\"1144\">authorization with a certified signature<\/strong> from a K.E.P. or other public authority, or<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1191\" data-end=\"1328\">\n<p data-start=\"1193\" data-end=\"1328\">A <strong data-start=\"1195\" data-end=\"1217\">Prosecutor\u2019s Order<\/strong> when a legal interest is not evident (based on Code of Administrative Procedure, Law 2690\/1999, Article 5 \u00a73).<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<blockquote data-start=\"1330\" data-end=\"1372\">\n<p data-start=\"1332\" data-end=\"1372\"><strong data-start=\"1332\" data-end=\"1372\">Telephone requests are not accepted.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<h3 data-start=\"1374\" data-end=\"1394\">Residents Abroad<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"1395\" data-end=\"1662\">Greek citizens residing abroad can obtain family status certificates through the <strong data-start=\"1476\" data-end=\"1506\">Greek consular authorities<\/strong> of their country of residence. These authorities are required to request the certificate <strong data-start=\"1596\" data-end=\"1608\">directly<\/strong> from the Municipality, without third-party mediation.<\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"1664\" data-end=\"1677\">Important<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"1678\" data-end=\"1776\">Family status certificates are <strong data-start=\"1709\" data-end=\"1721\">not sent<\/strong> to <strong data-start=\"1725\" data-end=\"1767\">private fax numbers or email addresses<\/strong>, due to:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"1777\" data-end=\"1909\">\n<li data-start=\"1777\" data-end=\"1810\">\n<p data-start=\"1779\" data-end=\"1810\">Personal data protection, and<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1811\" data-end=\"1909\">\n<p data-start=\"1813\" data-end=\"1909\">The fact that faxed\/emailed versions are <strong data-start=\"1854\" data-end=\"1867\">not valid<\/strong> (they are considered simple photocopies).<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"1911\" data-end=\"2079\">If a foreign authority provides special forms, these may be completed by the department <strong data-start=\"1999\" data-end=\"2037\">issuing family status certificates<\/strong>, upon submission by the interested party.<\/p>\n<blockquote data-start=\"2081\" data-end=\"2314\">\n<p data-start=\"2083\" data-end=\"2314\">According to Law 3242\/2004 and Law 3448\/2006 on <em data-start=\"2134\" data-end=\"2155\">ex officio searches<\/em>, family status certificates and civil registry acts (marriage, birth, death) may be retrieved directly by the service, provided the events occurred in Greece.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p data-start=\"2316\" data-end=\"2364\"><a href=\"https:\/\/oauth2.gsis.gr\/oauth2server\/login.jsp\">Click here to access the online service.<\/a><\/p>\n<hr data-start=\"2366\" data-end=\"2369\" \/>\n<h2 data-start=\"2371\" data-end=\"2442\">B. Conscription Certificate for Reduced or Deferred Military Service<\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"2444\" data-end=\"2553\">This certificate is issued by the <strong data-start=\"2478\" data-end=\"2500\">Municipal Registry<\/strong> of the municipality where the recruit is registered.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2555\" data-end=\"2821\">If requested through a <strong data-start=\"2578\" data-end=\"2615\">Citizens\u2019 Service Centre (K.E.P.)<\/strong>, a <strong data-start=\"2619\" data-end=\"2641\">solemn declaration<\/strong> is required (wording provided by the service), signed either by the recruit or by his parents. The certificate is submitted <strong data-start=\"2766\" data-end=\"2797\">only to recruitment offices<\/strong>, not to military units.<\/p>\n<blockquote data-start=\"2823\" data-end=\"3045\">\n<p data-start=\"2825\" data-end=\"3045\">It may also be obtained <em data-start=\"2852\" data-end=\"2864\">ex officio<\/em>, under Article 8.1 of Decision DIAP\/A\/9667 of the Ministry of Interior. Registration of a foreign male child adopted by Greek parents in the Register of Children <br \/><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The applicant must provide the following documents:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li>Application form of adoptive father or adoptive mother (a form is provided by the Service)<\/li>\n<li>A declaration of non-registration of the person concerned in the Register of Boys of the Municipality or Community where the adoptive father or mother is registered.<\/li>\n<li>Original Birth Certificate (If the child is born abroad, a foreign birth certificate and its official translation).<\/li>\n<li>Birth certificate drawn up in accordance with Law 610\/70.<\/li>\n<li>Judicial adoption decision, certificate of finality, service report.<\/li>\n<li>A Greek Court&#8217;s precedent of a foreign adoption decision, if it was made abroad.<\/li>\n<li>Pseudonyms, if they were used to issue a court order for adoption.<\/li>\n<li>Certificate of the Adoptive Father&#8217;s Children&#8217;s Registry.<\/li>\n<li>Certificate of the adoptive mother&#8217;s Municipal Register.<\/li>\n<li>Birth certificates of the natural parents from their country of origin in an official Greek translation. In case there are none, photocopies of their passports.<\/li>\n<li>Marriage certificate of the adoptive parents.<\/li>\n<li>Certificate of marital status of the adoptive parents.<\/li>\n<li>Photocopy of the identity cards of adoptive parents<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>D. Certificate of the Boys&#8217; Register <br \/><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Certificates of the Register of Men are issued by the Department of Municipal Status located at 15 Alsos Street, 2nd floor, tel. 213 2025241 &#8211; 248. CIVIL MARRIAGE CEREMONY BETWEEN GREEK CITIZENS<\/strong><\/h5>\n<p data-start=\"223\" data-end=\"382\">Civil Marriage was established by Law 1250\/1982. Presidential Decree 391\/1982 laid down the details of civil marriages, the granting of marriage licenses, etc.<\/p>\n<h4 data-start=\"384\" data-end=\"402\">A1. Procedure<\/h4>\n<p data-start=\"404\" data-end=\"559\">Each of the spouses submits an application with the necessary documents to the competent Municipality in order to be issued an individual marriage license.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"561\" data-end=\"1132\">The competent Municipality for issuing a marriage license is the Municipality within the geographical boundaries of which the spouse is a permanent resident and can prove this with one of the proofs of permanent residence described below (see A2.3 Proof of permanent residence), except in the case where the spouse is a declared permanent resident of a foreign country and cannot provide proof of permanent residence in Greece. Procedure<\/h4>\n<p data-start=\"3712\" data-end=\"3777\">The Greek Citizen follows the procedure described above (see A1).<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3779\" data-end=\"3949\">The foreign citizen addresses the competent Municipality and submits an application with the necessary documents, in order to be issued an individual <strong data-start=\"3929\" data-end=\"3948\">Marriage Permit<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3951\" data-end=\"4207\">The competent Municipality is the one where the Greek spouse is a permanent resident and can prove it with appropriate documentation (see B2.3 Proof of permanent residence), or the one where the foreign citizen is legally hosted by the Greek future spouse.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"4209\" data-end=\"4380\">The Marriage License is issued within eight (8) calendar days from the submission of the application, is received by the person concerned, and is valid for six (6) months.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"4382\" data-end=\"4561\">Once both spouses have their marriage licenses, they submit a joint application to the Municipality of their choice, attaching both licenses, and setting the date of the ceremony.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"4563\" data-end=\"4649\">In this application, they also state the surname of the children born of the marriage.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"4651\" data-end=\"4728\">The wedding is conducted on the agreed date in the presence of two witnesses.<\/p>\n<h4 data-start=\"4730\" data-end=\"4813\">B2. Supporting documents for the issuance of a marriage license to a foreigner<\/h4>\n<ol data-start=\"4815\" data-end=\"6135\">\n<li data-start=\"4815\" data-end=\"4870\">\n<p data-start=\"4818\" data-end=\"4870\">Application form (available from the Municipality)<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"4871\" data-end=\"4931\">\n<p data-start=\"4874\" data-end=\"4931\">Signature Declaration (available from the Municipality)<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"4932\" data-end=\"5203\">\n<ul data-start=\"4940\" data-end=\"5203\">\n<li data-start=\"4940\" data-end=\"5089\">\n<p data-start=\"4942\" data-end=\"5089\"><strong data-start=\"4942\" data-end=\"4982\">A. For permanent residents of Greece<\/strong>: Proof of permanent residence (latest I.O.Y. statement or alternatively, a recent utility bill or lease)<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"5093\" data-end=\"5203\">\n<p data-start=\"5095\" data-end=\"5203\"><strong data-start=\"5095\" data-end=\"5112\">B. For guests<\/strong>: Responsible Declaration from the Greek future spouse stating that they are hosting them<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"5204\" data-end=\"5280\">\n<p data-start=\"5207\" data-end=\"5280\">Birth Certificate with the required validation and official translation<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"5281\" data-end=\"5449\">\n<p data-start=\"5284\" data-end=\"5449\">Recent certificate from the Consular Authority of the applicant\u2019s country confirming no impediment to marriage in Greece (with validation and official translation)<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"5450\" data-end=\"5572\">\n<p data-start=\"5453\" data-end=\"5572\">Photocopies of identification documents and proof of legal residence in Greece (passport, ID, residence permit, VISA)<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"5573\" data-end=\"5707\">\n<p data-start=\"5576\" data-end=\"5707\">E-voucher &#8220;For issuing a marriage license by the Municipality&#8221;, with the future spouse\u2019s details and proof of payment (code 2386)<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"5708\" data-end=\"5822\">\n<p data-start=\"5711\" data-end=\"5822\">Notification of the marriage in an Athens daily newspaper (names in Greek; the entire newspaper is submitted)<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"5823\" data-end=\"5876\">\n<p data-start=\"5826\" data-end=\"5876\">Photocopy of the foreign citizen&#8217;s identity card<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"5877\" data-end=\"5994\">\n<p data-start=\"5881\" data-end=\"5994\">Divorcees must submit a notarial deed of their last marriage (if held in Greece), with the dissolution recorded<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"5995\" data-end=\"6135\">\n<p data-start=\"5999\" data-end=\"6135\">For widows (from a marriage held in Greece), a Birth Certificate of that marriage and the spouse&#8217;s Death Certificate are also required<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h4 data-start=\"6137\" data-end=\"6159\">B3. Special cases<\/h4>\n<p data-start=\"6161\" data-end=\"7193\"><strong data-start=\"6161\" data-end=\"6170\">B3.1.<\/strong> Political refugees (beneficiaries of international protection) must submit the relevant Residence Permit and passport, and after consultation with the service, relevant affidavits.<br data-start=\"6351\" data-end=\"6354\" \/><strong data-start=\"6354\" data-end=\"6363\">B3.2.<\/strong> Syrians must also provide special approval from the Syrian Ministry of Interior and their embassy in Bulgaria.<br data-start=\"6474\" data-end=\"6477\" \/><strong data-start=\"6477\" data-end=\"6486\">B3.3.<\/strong> Cypriots must provide a <em data-start=\"6511\" data-end=\"6532\">Freedom Certificate<\/em> from the Ministry of Interior of Cyprus.<br data-start=\"6573\" data-end=\"6576\" \/><strong data-start=\"6576\" data-end=\"6585\">B3.4.<\/strong> If the foreign citizen is from Austria, Germany, Switzerland, Spain, Italy, Luxembourg, Moldova, Netherlands, Portugal, Turkey:<br data-start=\"6713\" data-end=\"6716\" \/>They submit a <strong data-start=\"6730\" data-end=\"6790\">Standard Multilingual Certificate of Marriage Competency<\/strong>, valid for six (6) months, which is accepted as a marriage license, without further validation (only translation). They then submit this and supporting documents 2, 4, 6, 8, 9, 10 from B2.<br data-start=\"6979\" data-end=\"6982\" \/><strong data-start=\"6982\" data-end=\"6991\">B3.6.<\/strong> Albanians also present a certified and translated certificate from their country, which is accepted as a marriage license. They submit this certificate along with documents 2, 4, 6, 8, 9, 10 from B2.<\/p>\n<h4 data-start=\"7195\" data-end=\"7230\">B4. Validations \/ Translations<\/h4>\n<p data-start=\"7232\" data-end=\"7247\"><strong data-start=\"7232\" data-end=\"7247\">Validations<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"7249\" data-end=\"8369\">\n<li data-start=\"7249\" data-end=\"7354\">\n<p data-start=\"7251\" data-end=\"7354\">Documents from consular authorities in Greece are validated by the Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"7355\" data-end=\"7565\">\n<p data-start=\"7357\" data-end=\"7565\">Exempt: Austria, Cyprus, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Estonia, Ireland, Italy, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Moldova, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, UK.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"7566\" data-end=\"7647\">\n<p data-start=\"7568\" data-end=\"7647\">Documents issued abroad (Hague Convention 1961) are validated with APOSTILLE.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"7648\" data-end=\"7784\">\n<p data-start=\"7650\" data-end=\"7784\">APOSTILLE not required for documents from: Austria, France, Greece, Spain, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Turkey.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"7785\" data-end=\"7910\">\n<p data-start=\"7787\" data-end=\"7910\">For Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, Uzbekistan, Peru: validation only via Greek consular authorities (see full instructions above).<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"7911\" data-end=\"8141\">\n<p data-start=\"7913\" data-end=\"8013\">Documents from non-Hague countries are validated via their Ministry of Foreign Affairs and either:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"8016\" data-end=\"8141\">\n<li data-start=\"8016\" data-end=\"8061\">\n<p data-start=\"8018\" data-end=\"8061\">the Greek Consular Office in that country<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"8064\" data-end=\"8141\">\n<p data-start=\"8066\" data-end=\"8141\">or through triple validation (local MFA \u2192 embassy in Greece \u2192 Greek MFA).<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"8142\" data-end=\"8369\">\n<p data-start=\"8144\" data-end=\"8369\"><strong data-start=\"8144\" data-end=\"8199\">Exclusively validated by Greek consular authorities<\/strong>: Ethiopia, Algeria, Afghanistan, Ghana, Eritrea, Indonesia, Iraq, Iran, Kenya, DRC, Libya, Mali, Bangladesh, Nigeria, Pakistan, Senegal, Sudan, Sri Lanka, Philippines.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"8371\" data-end=\"8387\"><strong data-start=\"8371\" data-end=\"8387\">Translations<\/strong><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"8389\" data-end=\"8403\">Accepted by:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"8404\" data-end=\"8661\">\n<li data-start=\"8404\" data-end=\"8448\">\n<p data-start=\"8406\" data-end=\"8448\">The Translation Service of the Greek MFA<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"8449\" data-end=\"8505\">\n<p data-start=\"8451\" data-end=\"8505\">A certified translator at a Greek consular authority<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"8506\" data-end=\"8612\">\n<p data-start=\"8508\" data-end=\"8612\">A graduate of the Department of Foreign Languages, Translation &amp; Interpreting of the Ionian University<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"8613\" data-end=\"8661\">\n<p data-start=\"8615\" data-end=\"8661\">A Greek lawyer (per Law 3026\/1954, Article 53)<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr data-start=\"8663\" data-end=\"8666\" \/>\n<p data-start=\"8668\" data-end=\"8809\"><strong data-start=\"8668\" data-end=\"8809\">The filing and collection of the marriage license application may be done either by the person concerned or by an authorised third party.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"8811\" data-end=\"8969\"><strong data-start=\"8811\" data-end=\"8969\">The Municipality of Glyfada, according to a decision by the Mayor, performs civil weddings every Friday from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Municipal Hall.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>To access the online service click <a href=\"https:\/\/glyfada.intelligentcity.gr\/icityops\/taxis_login.php?cc_id=45\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">here<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"214\" data-end=\"378\"><strong data-start=\"214\" data-end=\"314\">Those interested can contact the Department of Municipal Status of the Administrative Department<\/strong>, located at 15 Alsos Street, 2nd floor, tel. 213 2025241 \u2013 247.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"380\" data-end=\"438\">The transfer of a citizen to a new family portion is done:<\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"440\" data-end=\"483\">A. Due to Marriage or Civil Partnership<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"485\" data-end=\"814\">Marriages or civil partnerships registered at a Registry Office after 01-02-2018 are automatically recorded through the Civil Registry system.<br data-start=\"627\" data-end=\"630\" \/><strong data-start=\"630\" data-end=\"667\">Citizens are requested to contact<\/strong> the telephone numbers (213 2025241 \u2013 247) or fax 213 2025249 of the Municipal Registry in order to <strong data-start=\"767\" data-end=\"793\">confirm the processing<\/strong> of the pending case.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"816\" data-end=\"1114\">In the case that a citizen has entered into a marriage or a civil partnership that was registered at a Registry Office <strong data-start=\"935\" data-end=\"945\">before<\/strong> 01-02-2018 and a new family portion has not been created, it is necessary to present the <strong data-start=\"1035\" data-end=\"1075\">Certificate from the Registry Office<\/strong> to the Department of Municipal Status.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1116\" data-end=\"1301\">In order for a civil partnership contract concluded under the provisions of Law 3719\/2008 to be registered in the Municipal Register, it must fall under the provisions of Law 4356\/2016.<\/p>\n<hr data-start=\"1303\" data-end=\"1306\" \/>\n<h3 data-start=\"1308\" data-end=\"1365\">B. Due to Divorce or Dissolution of Civil Partnership<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"1367\" data-end=\"1694\">Divorces or dissolutions of civil partnerships registered at the Registry Office after 01-02-2018 are <strong data-start=\"1469\" data-end=\"1495\">automatically recorded<\/strong> through the Civil Registry system.<br data-start=\"1530\" data-end=\"1533\" \/>Citizens are requested to <strong data-start=\"1559\" data-end=\"1592\">contact the telephone numbers<\/strong> of the Municipal Registry (213 2025241 \u2013 247) in order to confirm the processing of the pending case.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1696\" data-end=\"1971\">In case a citizen declared a divorce or dissolution of a civil partnership in a Registry Office <strong data-start=\"1792\" data-end=\"1813\">before 01-02-2018<\/strong> and a new family portion has not been created, it is necessary to present the <strong data-start=\"1892\" data-end=\"1932\">Certificate from the Registry Office<\/strong> to the Department of Municipal Status.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1973\" data-end=\"2573\">If there are children, <strong data-start=\"1996\" data-end=\"2038\">the issue of parental care and custody<\/strong> is examined in order to register them in the family portion of the parent who has custody. In such a case, a <strong data-start=\"2148\" data-end=\"2166\">court decision<\/strong> regarding the dissolution of the marriage, which confirms the <strong data-start=\"2229\" data-end=\"2250\">private agreement<\/strong> (if the divorce was consensual) by which the parents determine custody, or a <strong data-start=\"2328\" data-end=\"2346\">court decision<\/strong> regulating custody (if the divorce was contested), must be submitted, along with a <strong data-start=\"2430\" data-end=\"2487\">certificate from the Court of First Instance Registry<\/strong> confirming that <strong data-start=\"2504\" data-end=\"2534\">no other legal proceedings<\/strong> have been filed against this decision.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2575\" data-end=\"2817\">In cases where marriages or civil partnerships are dissolved by <strong data-start=\"2639\" data-end=\"2656\">notarial deed<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"2658\" data-end=\"2682\">custody arrangements<\/strong> do <strong data-start=\"2686\" data-end=\"2693\">not<\/strong> have recognition effect in the Municipal Register, in accordance with Article 15 of Law 3463\/2006, which remains unamended.<\/p>\n<hr data-start=\"2819\" data-end=\"2822\" \/>\n<h3 data-start=\"2824\" data-end=\"2850\">C. For Other Reasons<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"2851\" data-end=\"2935\">(e.g. birth of a child out of wedlock, annulment of paternity, child adoption, etc.)<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2937\" data-end=\"3129\">In these cases, the <strong data-start=\"2957\" data-end=\"2986\">supporting documents vary<\/strong>, depending on the case. It is advisable for the interested parties to <strong data-start=\"3057\" data-end=\"3082\">contact the employees<\/strong> of the Municipal Registry Department directly.<\/p>\n<hr data-start=\"3131\" data-end=\"3134\" \/>\n<p data-start=\"3136\" data-end=\"3403\"><strong data-start=\"3136\" data-end=\"3145\">Note:<\/strong> All types of certificates and Civil Registry acts can be searched <strong data-start=\"3212\" data-end=\"3226\">ex officio<\/strong> by the service, under the provisions of Law 3242\/2004 and Law 3448\/2006 <em data-start=\"3299\" data-end=\"3323\">\u201con ex officio search\u201d<\/em>, as long as the events (births, marriages, deaths) have occurred in <strong data-start=\"3392\" data-end=\"3402\">Greece<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"158\" data-end=\"202\"><strong data-start=\"158\" data-end=\"202\">Migration to the Municipality of Glyfada<\/strong><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"204\" data-end=\"476\">Citizens wishing to migrate to the Municipality of Glyfada may be served at the <strong data-start=\"284\" data-end=\"318\">Department of Municipal Status<\/strong> of the <strong data-start=\"326\" data-end=\"355\">Administrative Department<\/strong>, located at <strong data-start=\"368\" data-end=\"398\">15 Alsos Street, 2nd floor<\/strong>, tel. <strong data-start=\"405\" data-end=\"426\">213 2025241 \u2013 247<\/strong>, or at any <strong data-start=\"438\" data-end=\"476\">K.E.P. (Citizens\u2019 Service Center).<\/strong><\/p>\n<hr data-start=\"478\" data-end=\"481\" \/>\n<h3 data-start=\"483\" data-end=\"522\"><strong data-start=\"487\" data-end=\"520\">Required Supporting Documents<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"523\" data-end=\"607\">The applicant must submit the following supporting documents, depending on the case:<\/p>\n<hr data-start=\"609\" data-end=\"612\" \/>\n<h3 data-start=\"614\" data-end=\"702\"><strong data-start=\"618\" data-end=\"702\">A. Migration Due to Continuous Two-Year Residence in the Municipality of Glyfada<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul data-start=\"704\" data-end=\"994\">\n<li data-start=\"704\" data-end=\"994\">\n<p data-start=\"706\" data-end=\"839\"><strong data-start=\"706\" data-end=\"742\">Application \u2013 Solemn Declaration<\/strong> of the adult citizen (relevant form available at the Department of Municipal Status), submitted:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"842\" data-end=\"994\">\n<li data-start=\"842\" data-end=\"888\">\n<p data-start=\"844\" data-end=\"888\">In person with their <strong data-start=\"865\" data-end=\"882\">identity card<\/strong>, or<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"891\" data-end=\"994\">\n<p data-start=\"893\" data-end=\"994\">Through a third party with an <strong data-start=\"923\" data-end=\"940\">authorization<\/strong> certified by the Police, K.E.P., or Public Authority.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"996\" data-end=\"1045\">The declaration must request migration and state:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"1046\" data-end=\"1190\">\n<li data-start=\"1046\" data-end=\"1123\">\n<p data-start=\"1048\" data-end=\"1123\">Continuous residence in the Municipality of Glyfada for the past two years.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1124\" data-end=\"1190\">\n<p data-start=\"1126\" data-end=\"1190\">Current <strong data-start=\"1134\" data-end=\"1152\">marital status<\/strong> (married, single, divorced, widowed).<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4 data-start=\"1192\" data-end=\"1240\"><strong data-start=\"1197\" data-end=\"1238\">Proof of Two-Year Permanent Residence<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p data-start=\"1241\" data-end=\"1278\">The applicant must submit <strong data-start=\"1267\" data-end=\"1278\">either:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1280\" data-end=\"1293\"><strong data-start=\"1280\" data-end=\"1293\">Option A:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol data-start=\"1294\" data-end=\"1617\">\n<li data-start=\"1294\" data-end=\"1435\">\n<p data-start=\"1297\" data-end=\"1435\">The last <strong data-start=\"1306\" data-end=\"1330\">two tax returns (E1)<\/strong> showing the <strong data-start=\"1343\" data-end=\"1369\">main residence address<\/strong> in the Municipality of Glyfada (not the workplace address), and<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1436\" data-end=\"1617\">\n<p data-start=\"1439\" data-end=\"1617\">The <strong data-start=\"1443\" data-end=\"1471\">most recent utility bill<\/strong> (issued within the last 2 months) from an electricity, telecommunications, or water company (e.g., PPC, OTE, EYDAP), indicating the same address.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p data-start=\"1619\" data-end=\"1625\"><strong data-start=\"1619\" data-end=\"1625\">OR<\/strong><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1627\" data-end=\"1640\"><strong data-start=\"1627\" data-end=\"1640\">Option B:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol data-start=\"1641\" data-end=\"1991\">\n<li data-start=\"1641\" data-end=\"1734\">\n<p data-start=\"1644\" data-end=\"1734\">A <strong data-start=\"1646\" data-end=\"1681\">utility bill from two years ago<\/strong> in the applicant&#8217;s name, with the Glyfada address.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1735\" data-end=\"1827\">\n<p data-start=\"1738\" data-end=\"1827\">A <strong data-start=\"1740\" data-end=\"1774\">utility bill from one year ago<\/strong> in the applicant&#8217;s name, with the Glyfada address.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1828\" data-end=\"1901\">\n<p data-start=\"1831\" data-end=\"1901\">The <strong data-start=\"1835\" data-end=\"1863\">most recent utility bill<\/strong>, with the same conditions as above.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1902\" data-end=\"1991\">\n<p data-start=\"1905\" data-end=\"1991\">The <strong data-start=\"1909\" data-end=\"1940\">most recent tax return (E1)<\/strong> showing the applicant\u2019s main residence in Glyfada.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<blockquote data-start=\"1993\" data-end=\"2049\">\n<p data-start=\"1995\" data-end=\"2049\"><strong data-start=\"1995\" data-end=\"2010\">Photocopies<\/strong> of the above documents are acceptable.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<h4 data-start=\"2051\" data-end=\"2117\"><strong data-start=\"2056\" data-end=\"2115\">Special Note for Unmarried Citizens Living with Parents<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p data-start=\"2118\" data-end=\"2283\">If the applicant has been residing for the past two years at their <strong data-start=\"2185\" data-end=\"2207\">parents\u2019 residence<\/strong>, and the utility\/tax documents are <strong data-start=\"2243\" data-end=\"2250\">not<\/strong> in their name, they must submit:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"2284\" data-end=\"2531\">\n<li data-start=\"2284\" data-end=\"2402\">\n<p data-start=\"2286\" data-end=\"2402\">The <strong data-start=\"2290\" data-end=\"2321\">last three tax returns (E1)<\/strong> of their parents, showing the applicant as a <strong data-start=\"2367\" data-end=\"2380\">dependent<\/strong> or <strong data-start=\"2384\" data-end=\"2401\">hosted person<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2403\" data-end=\"2531\">\n<p data-start=\"2405\" data-end=\"2531\">A <strong data-start=\"2407\" data-end=\"2429\">solemn declaration<\/strong> by the applicant confirming that they reside with their parents at the stated address within Glyfada.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr data-start=\"2533\" data-end=\"2536\" \/>\n<h3 data-start=\"2538\" data-end=\"2574\"><strong data-start=\"2542\" data-end=\"2574\">B. Family Status Certificates<\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"387\" data-end=\"647\">Family status certificates are issued by the <strong data-start=\"432\" data-end=\"497\">Municipal Status Department of the Administrative Directorate<\/strong>, located at the <strong data-start=\"514\" data-end=\"535\">Glyfada City Hall<\/strong> (15 Alsos Street, 2nd floor), tel. <strong data-start=\"571\" data-end=\"592\">213 2025241 \u2013 247<\/strong>, as well as by <strong data-start=\"608\" data-end=\"646\">Citizens\u2019 Service Centres (K.E.P.)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"649\" data-end=\"851\">There is also the option to issue a <strong data-start=\"685\" data-end=\"717\">digitally signed certificate<\/strong> through the Municipality\u2019s website under <strong data-start=\"759\" data-end=\"807\">Digital Certificates \u2013 Citizens &amp; Businesses<\/strong>, using the <strong data-start=\"819\" data-end=\"838\">IntelligentCity<\/strong> application.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"853\" data-end=\"1044\">Certificates are issued to individuals <strong data-start=\"892\" data-end=\"928\">registered in the Family Section<\/strong> of the Municipality of Glyfada, after verification of their identity by presenting a valid <strong data-start=\"1020\" data-end=\"1043\">ID card or passport<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1046\" data-end=\"1094\">If a <strong data-start=\"1051\" data-end=\"1066\">third party<\/strong> applies, they must provide:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"1095\" data-end=\"1328\">\n<li data-start=\"1095\" data-end=\"1190\">\n<p data-start=\"1097\" data-end=\"1190\">An <strong data-start=\"1100\" data-end=\"1144\">authorization with a certified signature<\/strong> from a K.E.P. or other public authority, or<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1191\" data-end=\"1328\">\n<p data-start=\"1193\" data-end=\"1328\">A <strong data-start=\"1195\" data-end=\"1217\">Prosecutor\u2019s Order<\/strong> when a legal interest is not evident (based on Code of Administrative Procedure, Law 2690\/1999, Article 5 \u00a73).<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<blockquote data-start=\"1330\" data-end=\"1372\">\n<p data-start=\"1332\" data-end=\"1372\"><strong data-start=\"1332\" data-end=\"1372\">Telephone requests are not accepted.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<h3 data-start=\"1374\" data-end=\"1394\">Residents Abroad<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"1395\" data-end=\"1662\">Greek citizens residing abroad can obtain family status certificates through the <strong data-start=\"1476\" data-end=\"1506\">Greek consular authorities<\/strong> of their country of residence. These authorities are required to request the certificate <strong data-start=\"1596\" data-end=\"1608\">directly<\/strong> from the Municipality, without third-party mediation.<\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"1664\" data-end=\"1677\">Important<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"1678\" data-end=\"1776\">Family status certificates are <strong data-start=\"1709\" data-end=\"1721\">not sent<\/strong> to <strong data-start=\"1725\" data-end=\"1767\">private fax numbers or email addresses<\/strong>, due to:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"1777\" data-end=\"1909\">\n<li data-start=\"1777\" data-end=\"1810\">\n<p data-start=\"1779\" data-end=\"1810\">Personal data protection, and<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1811\" data-end=\"1909\">\n<p data-start=\"1813\" data-end=\"1909\">The fact that faxed\/emailed versions are <strong data-start=\"1854\" data-end=\"1867\">not valid<\/strong> (they are considered simple photocopies).<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"1911\" data-end=\"2079\">If a foreign authority provides special forms, these may be completed by the department <strong data-start=\"1999\" data-end=\"2037\">issuing family status certificates<\/strong>, upon submission by the interested party.<\/p>\n<blockquote data-start=\"2081\" data-end=\"2314\">\n<p data-start=\"2083\" data-end=\"2314\">According to Law 3242\/2004 and Law 3448\/2006 on <em data-start=\"2134\" data-end=\"2155\">ex officio searches<\/em>, family status certificates and civil registry acts (marriage, birth, death) may be retrieved directly by the service, provided the events occurred in Greece.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p data-start=\"2316\" data-end=\"2364\"><a href=\"https:\/\/oauth2.gsis.gr\/oauth2server\/login.jsp\">Click here to access the online service.<\/a><\/p>\n<hr data-start=\"2366\" data-end=\"2369\" \/>\n<h2 data-start=\"2371\" data-end=\"2442\">B. Conscription Certificate for Reduced or Deferred Military Service<\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"2444\" data-end=\"2553\">This certificate is issued by the <strong data-start=\"2478\" data-end=\"2500\">Municipal Registry<\/strong> of the municipality where the recruit is registered.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2555\" data-end=\"2821\">If requested through a <strong data-start=\"2578\" data-end=\"2615\">Citizens\u2019 Service Centre (K.E.P.)<\/strong>, a <strong data-start=\"2619\" data-end=\"2641\">solemn declaration<\/strong> is required (wording provided by the service), signed either by the recruit or by his parents. The certificate is submitted <strong data-start=\"2766\" data-end=\"2797\">only to recruitment offices<\/strong>, not to military units.<\/p>\n<blockquote data-start=\"2823\" data-end=\"3045\">\n<p data-start=\"2825\" data-end=\"3045\">It may also be obtained <em data-start=\"2852\" data-end=\"2864\">ex officio<\/em>, under Article 8.1 of Decision DIAP\/A\/9667 of the Ministry of Interior.
