According to the current institutional framework, the “Municipal Equality Committee” is an advisory body to the Municipal Council with the following responsibilities:<\/p>\n

a) in cooperation with the competent department of the municipality, participates and supports the integration of gender equality in the policies of the municipality, proposes and participates in the preparation of action plans for gender equality at local level,<\/p>\n

b) formulate proposals and recommend to the competent bodies of the municipality, the adoption of the necessary measures to promote substantive gender equality in all areas of economic, political and social life,<\/p>\n

c) cooperates with the “Regional Equality Committee”, the competent, where appropriate, Municipal Services, with structures and collectives, which are active in the field of promoting gender equality and women’s rights at local level,<\/p>\n

d) cooperates with the structures of the Network of the General Secretariat for the Prevention and Combating of Violence against Women, as well as with civil society organisations.<\/p>\n

    The Local Council for the Prevention of Delinquency is an advisory and consultative body with a preventive and informative character. It focuses its action on the prevention of crime and delinquency by developing an alternative anti-crime policy adapted to the needs and requirements of the local community. <\/p>\n

    The work of the Local Council for the Prevention of Delinquency is :<\/p>\n

    • The recording and study of offending behaviour at local level.<\/li>\n
    • The preparation of relevant programmes in the Municipality’s region.<\/li>\n
    • The organisation of workshops, seminars and related public awareness events.<\/li>\n
    • The coordination and implementation of initiatives by the social actors of the region to reduce certain forms of crime.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      To instil a sense of security among residents and create a climate of trust.<\/p>\n

      The term of office of the aforementioned Council is for a period of three (3) years and the participation of its members is honorary and unpaid.<\/p>\n

            According to the current institutional framework, the “Municipal Equality Committee” is an advisory body to the Municipal Council with the following responsibilities:<\/p>\n

            a) in cooperation with the competent department of the municipality, participates and supports the integration of gender equality in the policies of the municipality, proposes and participates in the preparation of action plans for gender equality at local level,<\/p>\n

            b) formulate proposals and recommend to the competent bodies of the municipality, the adoption of the necessary measures to promote substantive gender equality in all areas of economic, political and social life,<\/p>\n

            c) cooperates with the “Regional Equality Committee”, the competent, where appropriate, Municipal Services, with structures and collectives, which are active in the field of promoting gender equality and women’s rights at local level,<\/p>\n

            d) cooperates with the structures of the Network of the General Secretariat for the Prevention and Combating of Violence against Women, as well as with civil society organisations.<\/p>\n

              The term of office of the Municipal Education Committee is two years.<\/strong><\/p>\n

              The Local Council for the Prevention of Delinquency is an advisory and consultative body with a preventive and informative character. It focuses its action on the prevention of crime and delinquency by developing an alternative anti-crime policy adapted to the needs and requirements of the local community. <\/p>\n

              The work of the Local Council for the Prevention of Delinquency is :<\/p>\n

              • The recording and study of offending behaviour at local level.<\/li>\n
              • The preparation of relevant programmes in the Municipality’s region.<\/li>\n
              • The organisation of workshops, seminars and related public awareness events.<\/li>\n
