Municipalities and citizens sent a letter of protest for the intense nuisance from the construction sites of Elliniko<\/p>\n
Two Municipalities – the Municipality of Glyfada and the Municipality of Alimos – three local associations, 1,000 residents of Glyfada, Alimos and Kato Elliniko, sign an out-of-court protest against the clouds of dust, noise and traffic chaos from the works at the Elliniko construction sites, stressing among other things that the approved environmental conditions are not respected. In the letter, which is addressed to the construction companies – with notification to the Minister of the Environment – they inform them that if they do not comply within 15 days, they will all go to court with injunctive relief, demanding the cessation of work, compensation and the imposition of all legal sanctions.
It is a situation that one cannot conceive of in its magnitude unless one experiences it. Life has become unlivable for the residents of the area adjacent to the construction sites in Glyfada, Alimos and Kato Elliniko.
It is summer and people cannot open the windows.

We all remember recently the African dust that had almost covered Attica.<\/p>\n
We all remember the difficulty when our balconies were a mess, our cars were a mess, etc.<\/p>\n
The residents of Glyfada, Alimos and Kato Elliniko, who live around the old airport, experience a similar phenomenon every day.<\/p>\n
From the clouds of dust – above the permissible limits – that are constantly being raised by the projects at the former airport, which we all want to see completed in a sustainable and balanced way.<\/p>\n
The residents of these areas and all those who live and move around these areas are asking for the obvious:<\/p>\n
Quality of life.<\/p>\n
Despite the efforts they have made, in which we have fully supported them, they have unfortunately not found a sympathetic ear.<\/p>\n
Since last autumn, residents have been calling for a meeting with Lamda Development to find a solution in a spirit of goodwill – to no avail.<\/p>\n
Even a meeting scheduled for next week was suddenly cancelled.<\/p>\n
Today this claim is taking on a different form:<\/p>\n
With a letter of protest signed by 1,000 residents who suffer the nuisance from the projects, our Municipalities of course, as well as local authorities, to the construction companies with a notification to the Minister of Environment.<\/p>\n
Despite verbal commitments, daily life has become unbearable and unlivable due to dust, noise, vibration, light pollution, traffic chaos and complete disregard for environmental conditions and quiet hours.<\/p>\n
Anyone who wishes can, at any time of any day, take a walk along the streets in front of the houses adjacent to the former airport and see for themselves what is happening.<\/p>\n
The out-of-court letter calls on the companies to implement immediately, without further delay, the provisions of the studies and the approved environmental conditions.<\/p>\n
If they do not comply within 15 days, we will all go to court with an injunction, seeking a stop work order, damages and all legal sanctions.<\/p>\n
We will support by every possible means this perfectly just and reasonable request, which should be self-evident in any favoured State.<\/p>\n
We defend the common good.<\/p>\n
