The campaign to inform students about the role and actions of the Social Service of the Municipality of Glyfada, the needs covered by the social structures and the value of giving to fellow human beings continues in the schools of our city, aiming to strengthen children’s empathy, so that they become citizens with values, sensitivities and altruism. Citizens useful to society.
At the urging of the Mayor of Glyfada George Papanikolaou, who is particularly sensitive to social issues and actions of offer and solidarity, the Social Service of the Municipality responded to the invitation of the Director of the 9th Primary School Kostas Theopoulos and the Directors of the 13th Primary School Georgia Daskalopoulou and the 14th Primary School Pigi Georgopoulou to inform the students, in the framework of the Ministry of Education, Religion and Sport’s program “Active Citizen”.
The schools were visited by the Deputy Mayor of Social Care and Solidarity, Eleni Karahou – Skoutari, together with the Head of the Social Grocery Ornela Demai.
The students were informed about the offer of the Municipality of Glyfada to our vulnerable citizens and emphasis was placed on the ways in which they themselves can become active citizens. This is an initiative that highlights and cultivates the concept of social sensitivity and solidarity among students and helps to strengthen and reinforce empathy and volunteerism from an early age. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
