The Municipality of Glyfada informs its citizens that according to the

Decision No 22687/2025 extends the deadline for the cleaning of the

land plots by owners, landlords and usufructuaries of land plots. Η

National Register of Property Fire Prevention Measures

(gov.gr) of the persons liable under par. 3 of article 53A of Law No. 4662/2020

is set at 15 June 2025.

We note that it is due to be cleared of dead grass, broken

trees and branches, in order to prevent the risk of fire or

its rapid expansion, to ensure the security of the social security system

and to avoid damage to property and risk to life.

In addition the plots should be kept free at all times from

waste even when it comes from third parties, as well as

any other combustible materials, during the fire season

i.e. from 1 May to 31 October 2025. The persons liable have the

responsibility for the removal of all materials, objects and waste

and their safe collection and transport.

In the event of non-compliance with the cleaning obligation, the

a) impose a fine in accordance with the provisions of Article

75 par. I, sector B, paragraph 26 of Law 3463/2006, as in force and b) will

carry out the cleaning of the land on its own initiative and confirm the

Ο Δήμος Γλυφάδας ενημερώνει τους δημότες του ότι σύμφωνα με την

αριθμ.22687/2025 Απόφαση παρατείνεται η προθεσμία καθαρισμών των

οικοπέδων από τους ιδιοκτήτες, νομείς και επικαρπωτές οικοπέδων. Η

καταληκτική ημερομηνία καθαρισμού και υποβολής υπεύθυνης δήλωσης στο

Εθνικό Μητρώο Τήρησης Μέτρων Προληπτικής Πυροπροστασίας Ιδιοκτησιών

(gov.gr) των υπόχρεων  της παρ. 3 του άρθρου 53Α του ν. 4662/2020

ορίζεται η 15 Ιουνίου 2025.

Σημειώνουμε ότι οφείλεται να γίνεται αποψίλωση από ξερά χόρτα, σπασμένα

δέντρα και κλαδιά, προς αποτροπή του κινδύνου πρόκλησης πυρκαγιάς ή

ταχείας επέκτασής της, για τη διασφάλιση της ασφάλειας του κοινωνικού

συνόλου και προς αποφυγή καταστροφών περιουσιών και κινδύνου ζωών.

Επιπλέον τα οικόπεδα θα πρέπει να τα διατηρούν πάντοτε ελεύθερα από

απορρίμματα ακόμη και όταν προέρχονται από τρίτους, όπως επίσης και

τυχόν άλλα εύφλεκτα υλικά, κατά την διάρκεια της αντιπυρικής περιόδου

δηλαδή από 1η  Μαΐου έως 31η Οκτωβρίου 2025.  Οι υπόχρεοι έχουν την

ευθύνη της απομάκρυνσης όλων των υλικών, αντικειμένων και απορριμμάτων

καθώς και στην ασφαλή συλλογή και μεταφορά τους.

Σε περίπτωση μη συμμόρφωσης στην εκπλήρωση της υποχρέωσης καθαρισμού ο

Δήμος άμεσα α) θα επιβάλλει πρόστιμο σύμφωνα με τα οριζόμενα στο άρθρο

75 παρ. Ι, τομέα Β περ.26 του Νόμου 3463/2006, όπως ισχύει και β) θα

προβεί στον αυτεπάγγελτο καθαρισμό του οικοπέδου και θα βεβαιώσει την

σχετική δαπάνη.

In the inspiring pedestrian street of the city’s shopping center, in the “Poets’ Road”, the Municipality of Glyfada in cooperation with the Greek Federation of Vehicles of the Era (E.O.O.E.) and its member unions are co-organizing a joyful, colorful, unique May Day celebration! More than 100 antique vehicles – beetles, military jeeps, era buses and many many more from the decades of the ’40s, ’50s, ’60s – will be from the morning spread out in a vertical arrangement around the pedestrian street of Lambraki, while at 12 noon a concert with Jetlag the Band and May Day songs by the choir of the Glyfada Municipal Conservatory will begin.
“We are waiting for you again this year to welcome May in a special and nostalgic way at the Poets’ Road, in the now established celebration that we organize together with the Hellenic Federation of Vehicles of the Era and includes the 8th open exhibition of historic cars, songs and many many flowers”, says the Mayor of Glyfada George Papanikolaou.

“The historical novel is a difficult undertaking, as the author is called upon not only to give the stigma of the era in which the story takes place, but also to know details about the life, customs, manners, attitudes and communication of the people of that time.”
This was mentioned by Stefanos Dandolos in an interactive lecture – interview with the Executive Councillor for Culture of the Municipality of Glyfada and journalist Georgia Vamvakerou, in the context of the Municipal Free Open University (MFAU) founded in our city by the Mayor of Glyfada George Papanikolaou.
The award-winning author of great successes and journalist Stefanos Dandolos added, however, that apart from the difficulties, the historical novel is particularly fascinating for the author, as writing it he “lives” in other times and “experiences” situations that fascinate him first. He referred mainly to three of his novels, ‘A Tale without a Name’, which is about the love between Penelope Delta and Ion Dragoumi, and ‘The Trial that Shook the World’, which describes the life of Agia Prokla, who was the wife of Pontius Pilate, and ‘Nightingales of Silence’, which tells the story of a love affair during the dark period of the Decembrance period, he said that the historical novel does not teach history but gives us the impetus to read further history, since it arouses our interest in the historical period to which it refers. “We read a novel,” he said, “mainly because it entertains us and makes us have a good time learning.”
-The institution of Lifelong Learning, which was established six years ago in our city by the Mayor of Glyfada George Papanikolaou, is experiencing ever greater growth, is being strengthened with new subjects and enriched with new themes.

-Responsible of the municipal authority for the operation of the CDE during the spring semester are the Deputy Mayor of Education, Lifelong Learning and Youth Annie Kauka and the Acting Municipal Councillor for e-Government Orestis Tsaglas. The steering committee also includes the teachers Olga Doxopoulou and Dimitra Moschou.
-The lectures of the distinguished speakers, who participate pro bono, are addressed to people of all ages, who wish to broaden their knowledge and horizons and invest their time creatively.
-Lifelong Learning is put into practice through the CMP, as there is no age limit, admission is free for everyone and the topics cover a wide range of interests.
-The courses – lectures take place at the Municipal Cinema “Melina Mercouri” (G. Gennimata and Anat. Romelia 123, Ano Glyfada). Their duration is one and a half hour, from 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm.
-The student is not obliged to pay tuition fees or to buy books or notes, while -as mentioned above- all teachers participate on a pro bono basis.
-At the end of each semester, a certificate of attendance is issued to those who attend all the courses – lectures, with the right to two absences per semester.
