Psychologists’ Office
The Psychologists’ Office of the Department of Welfare, Social Policy and Gender Equality of the Municipality of Glyfada provides free psychological counselling services to all citizens living or working in Glyfada. It is essentially a primary, community-based service that aims to prevent and promote mental health, i.e. early diagnosis of mental disorders, psychosocial support and mental health awareness.
Mental health prevention and promotion is implemented by:

Individual counselling – psychological support sessions

Parental counselling sessions for empowerment of their parental role

Counselling sessions on the order of the Public Prosecutor’s Office for Minors

Cooperation with the schools of our Municipality – psychological counselling and support for school principals and teachers on issues related to their professional role, classroom management, as well as in dealing with student behaviour issues

Training and supervision of students in the context of their internship

Liaison and cooperation with Community and Social Services, as well as with Primary and Secondary Health Care Services (Public Prosecutor’s Offices, Police, Institutions, Hospitals, University Institutions, etc.)

Community awareness and education on mental health issues
Particular care is taken to ensure that the above procedures are governed by the basic rules of ethics and conduct – absolute respect for the personality and dignity of individuals, observance of professional secrecy and ensuring the protection of personal data.
