Thematic Spring Golf Walks in May

The program of intervention with natural ways for the protection of mental health, implemented by the Municipality of Glyfada on the initiative of Mayor George Papanikolaou, continues in May. Two cycles were planned, but due to the great interest shown, a third one is added!

The Department of Welfare, Social Policy and Gender Equality, in the context of implementing interventions aimed at self-care and prevention of mental disorders, is piloting thematic cycles entitled: Soul and Body – Thematic walk for the prevention of Mental Health in natural ways. The first one was completed just before Christmas. The second started on Monday 24 March and will end on Monday 28 April. The third starts on Monday 5 May and ends on Monday 26 May.

The programme is an extension of the action entitled “Mind and Body” and involves planned thematic walks, which include physical activity in an outdoor area and coordinated discussion in groups of an experiential nature, with the cooperation of Psychologists and Physical Education Teachers.

The action, which is coordinated by the Deputy Mayor of Social Care and Solidarity, Eleni Karachou – Skoutari, is implemented as a program to promote mental health and well-being, based on the three pillars of the holistic approach: physical care – mental health – active participation and socialization.

The walks of the third cycle will take place on the four Mondays of May, at Glyfada Golf Club, 9:30 am – 11:30 am.

The group that will be formed will be a closed group with a maximum of 25 participants.
